The Vintage is a design-led boutique hotel in Lisbon, 57 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, and a spa, built on a mid-century and Scandinavian visual language. Its guest comes as much for the design as for the stay. The interiors were developed by Lisbon studio Quiet Studios, we worked alongside them, developing the art around the world they were building.

The collection carries mid-century cues into contemporary work. The first thing a guest meets is a kinetic brass mobile turning slowly against a full-height mirror, movement doubled before a word is spoken. Beyond it, above the reception desk, a neon installation answers the arched forms of our wall paintings: light and pigment set to rhyme, so the space ties itself together at the point of arrival. Abstract works on paper run through the corridors, and a single figurative portrait in the bar gives the room a face. That register was carried into the guest rooms, resolved across three distinct colour schemes, each room holding the same language in a different key. Warm, playful, and exact, art placed through the journey so the design story holds from the door to the room.
